NEW IMPERIALISM: THE PARTITION OF AFRICA 1. AFRICA IS A FAIRLY SMALL CONTINENT THAT HAD DEVELOPED A UNIFIED CULTURE BEFORE EUROPEAN NATIONS BEGAN ESTABLISHING COLONIES. AFRICA IS A LARGE CONTINENT THAT HAD NOT DEVELOPED A UNIFIED CULTURE BEFORE EUROPEAN COLONIZATION. (STILL IS NOT A UNIFIED CULTURE!)

QUESTION2 EUROPEAN EXPLORERS IN THE EARLY 1800s GAINED A COMPLETE UNDERSTANDING OF THE PEOPLES THEY MET. EUROPEAN EXPLORERS IN THE EARLY 1800S DID NOT GAIN A COMPLETE UNDERSTANDING OF THE PEOPLES THEY MET.
