© 2005 BH, Inc. All rights reserved.5/2/20152 First things first………. Congratulations on your new BH dog/livestock housing unit! Now how do you keep it looking brand new??? BH Dog & Livestock Units may be either cleaned with a standard high pressure hose/mild detergents or disassembled and moved to the cage washer. Some of our unique components require special care. This FAQ guide will offer you tips on proper cleaning.

© 2005 BH, Inc. All rights reserved.5/2/20153 Stainless Steel Panels………. How do I clean my new stainless steel units? Use the proper tools. Do not use steel pads, wire brushes or scrapers. Use non-chlorinated cleaners at recommended concentrations. Use only chloride free cleaners. Soften your water. Use filters and softeners whenever possible. Wipe off cleaning agent (s) and standing water as soon as possible. Prolonged contact will cause eventual problems. For routine cleaning the ideal cleaning agents are soap, detergent, ammonia, medallion. Will my stainless steel rust and why? Yes, this happens when passivity breaks down by scrapes, scratches, deposits, pits, cracks and chlorides. How do I clean rust? One method is by using naval jelly, or cleaning agents such as Benefit and Super Sheen.

© 2005 BH, Inc. All rights reserved.5/2/20154 Trespa (Virtuon) Panels………. How do I clean my trespa components? Mild solvents may be used to remove stubborn marks and dirt. Do not use abrasive cleaners, pads or tools. Which can damage the surface and create an opening for dirt and/or bacteria. What is trespa? A self-supporting panel for interior applications, based on thermo setting resins, homogeneously reinforced with wood-based fibers and manufactured under high pressure and high temperature, giving a homogeneous panel with a closed structure, without pores in either the surface or the core. The panels have a surface based on cross-linked co-polymers.

© 2005 BH, Inc. All rights reserved.5/2/20155 Duragrid Flooring How do I clean my duragrid components? Duragrid can be cleaned with high pressure hoses or mild cleaners. Nylon scrub brushes may be used on stubborn stains. Never use acidic based solutions. Always wipe off cleaners immediately. Pooling of cleaners may cause discoloration. What is duragrid? Pultruded fiberglass grating. Each bearing bar is reinforced by a core of densely packed continuous glass fibers wrapped by a continuous glass mat plus a synthetic surfacing veil. It is then pulled through a resin bath and then into a heated shaping die where the resin is thermoset, producing a continuous solid part. This product is one-fourth the weight of stainless steel along with high impact strength. The two standard colors are gray and yellow. Many cross-rod spacings, textures and coatings are available.

Also wipe off cleaners immediately. To maintain your duragrid always check for normal wear and tear. Edges and surfaces can be re-sealed with a non-toxic epoxy. Trespa surfaces can withstand heat up to 350 degrees farenheit. However, prolonged temperature exposure, can cause surface damage. Contact BH for load deflection and chemical resistance charts. Thank you and Enjoy Your New BH Housing Units!
