The natural gas situation for Europe is even worse than the oil.

Understaning the importance of controlling oil supplies…helps explain the recent Georgia and Chechnya Russian invasions. Copyright 2008 Roger K. Young--All Rights Reserved6 GRI

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED IN CHECHNYA AND JUST LAST YEAR IN GEORGIA? Why did Russia essentially commit genocide on 40%-50% of population of the tiny country of Chechnya? Why did Russia attack & invade equally tiny Sovereign country of Georgia in a massive lightning raid, and continues to occupy Georgia to this day? GRI 7 Copyright 2008 Roger K. Young--All Rights Reserved

The attack and invasion of Georgia. Georgia is about the size of South Carolina..with a population of around 5 million. Georgia produces no oil The KEY is it’s strategic location….

GRI 9 Russia is to the North of Georgia and Russian ally Armenia is to the South. Copyright 2008 Roger K. Young--All Rights Reserved RUSSIA Armenia GEORGIA TURKEY

` GRI 10 Copyright 2008 Roger K. Young--All Rights Reserved RUSSIA Armenia Russia invaded two areas of Georgia in a carefully prepared & well executed sudden, massive raid (100,000 soldiers, planes, tanks, etc.) catching everyone, even US/Western intelligence, by complete surprise…quickly overpowering in 3 days the Georgian military. Russia said they did this to “protect” & “secure” the two Georgian territories who, (according to Russia), wanted to “join” Russia.

` GRI 11 Russian Extension past the Disputed Territories Copyright 2008 Roger K. Young--All Rights Reserved It is important to note that Russia quickly overran the two “disputed” areas, and extended their control past these areas. And, despite repeated claims that they would withdraw…they have not. WHY?

1% of world oil flows through Georgia Baku Supsa line Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan line GRI 12 Baku pipelines Copyright 2008 Roger K. Young--All Rights Reserved It needs to be understood that the largest, most expensive Oil pipeline, (actually 3 pipelines) in the world, which carries 1% of the worlds oil production, passes through Georgia. The US (who paid for the project), Britain, Turkey, and Georgia just finished building this pipeline a few years prior to `

Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan line GRI 13 Baku pipelines Copyright 2008 Roger K. Young--All Rights Reserved ` As you can see, the Russians overran the disputed Georgian territories, just enough to gain control over the main oil pipeline that feeds Southern Europe, Ukraine and Poland. And they are only 12 miles away from the large double pipeline that feeds 70% of the oil to Israel, and 100% to Turkey. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT as of 2008…SOUTHERN EUROPE, UKRAINE, POLAND, TURKEY AND ISRAEL WERE ALL ALLIES OF THE UNITED STATES. 1% of world oil flows through Georgia Baku Supsa line

 This ACT OF WAR by the Russians against Georgia, was so well planned, and executed so fast and with such surprise, that despite treaties with the United States, Israel, and other countries to help defend their country… no one was able to do anything.  Currently, Russia is working hard to overthrow the pro-US Georgian government, and make all of Georgia a Russian controlled country.

Major Oil Pipelines To Europe from Russia EU Pipeline Russian Pipeline China Pipeline Russia Romania Bulgaria Belarus Ukrain e Kazakhsta n Uzbekistan Kyrgyzstan Tajikistan Poland Latvia Estonia Lithuania U.S. /BP Joint Pipeline Turkmenistan Armenia Azerbaijan In essence, US/BP built one of largest and most expensive oil pipelines in world…and now Russia controls it. GRI

WHY CHECHNYA? Why did Russia wipe out approximatley 40%-50% of the Chechnyan population, committing genocide, almost leveling Grozny to nothing? Especially after declaring that the Soviet Union was no more and that Soviet Satellite countries were free? Again, it is about oil.

GRI Chechnya has small oil fields…and sits on a major Southern Russia Oil Supply line 17 Copyright 2008 Roger K. Young--All Rights Reserved Chechnya produces and refines and transports the oil for Southern Russia. Chechnya Oil pipeline that feeds Southern Russia/Ukraine. Major oil refineries and small oil fields near Grozny.

There were other benefits to Russia because of the Chechnyan/Georgian invasions.  Azerbaijan. (Baku oil region) has switched from pro-US…to pro-Russia. Switching oil supplies from US/EU pipeline…to the Chechnyan/Russian pipeline.  Turkmenistan has also followed the same direction. (Switched from pro-US to pro-Russia and started exporting more oil/gas to Southern Russia)  Israel lost an attack base that they had built to use to attack Iran. 18 GRI Copyright 2008 Roger K.  In 2009 the Russian “Hammer” did fall upon Ukraine and other countries, just as predicted.  In fact…There is evidence that Russia “tested” a biological weapon against 2 Ukrainian cities 3 months ago. It is still ongoing, infecting millions who were “sprayed” with a fatality of 10+%. (reported in November GRI Newsletter)  ALL OF THESE EFFORTS OF THE RUSSIAN “HAMMER” HAVE WORKED SPECTACULARLY… WHILE THE AMERICANS/WEST HAVE STOOD IDLY BY.
