Memory Craft Feed Dog Drop Step Motor Adjustments

Base Cover Removal 3. Remove the last remaining screw that holds on the back of the base cover. 2. Remove the 2 Phillip's set screws & washers that hold the metal rail in place. Be sure to hold the rail in place when you remove the last screw, as it will fall. 1. Remove the small, black, Phillip's screw on the end of the free arm. The metal bracket will come off with the screw Remove the 2 screws.

Base Cover Removal 5. Unplug the base unit connector that plugs into the ‘U2’ board Remove the 2 large Phillip's screws that hold the bottom arm sole to the machine. Make sure you hold the base cover in place as you remove the last screw.

Feed Dog Drop Step Motor Removal, Installation, and Adjustments 1. Now that you have the feed dog drop step motor exposed, remove the 2 large Phillip's screws that hold it into the machine. 2. If your step motor is jamming, make sure this spring is not laying on top of the screw. If it is, take a pair of pliers and pinch the spring downward so it rests against the screw. 3. Turn the large white gear so the metal bracket is touching the flat spot of the gear and a raised, white line on the gear. Every time you turn the white gear back and forth, the you should hear a light ‘click’ when the metal bracket is touching the flat spot of the gear. If not, follow steps Raised, white line

Feed Dog Drop Step Motor Removal, Installation, and Adjustments 4. Make sure this spring is not laying on top of the screw. If it is, take a pair of pliers and pinch the spring downward so it rests to the left of the screw and not on top of the screw. Now check to see if you hear the light ‘click’. 6. Remove the large bracket & spring from the step motor unit Expand the spring outward so it will provide more pressure for the silver bracket to push on the microswitch. Now, reattach the spring, large bracket, and c-clip. Before After 5. If you still do not hear the click, remove the large c-clip that holds the silver bracket & spring in place.

Feed Dog Drop Step Motor Removal, Installation, and Adjustments 8. Turn the gear so the bracket is resting on the flat spot of the gear. Loosen the screw that holds the microswitch in place and move the switch to the right then back again. As you are moving the switch back to the left, tighten the screw as soon as you hear the ‘click’ When reattaching the feed dog drop step motor, align the metal arm into the slot of the driving bracket. 10. Replace the 2 set screws that hold the step motor unit to the machine. Be sure to ‘tuck’ the wires down into the machine. Raised, white line

Base Cover Installation 2. Plug the base unit wire into the ‘U2’ board. 1. Replace the 2 large Phillip's screws that hold the bottom arm sole to the machine Replace the small screw on the back of the base cover. 3. Align the metal rail with the machine and replace small, black, Phillip's screw and bracket on the end of the free arm.

Base Cover Installation 5. Replace the 2 Phillip's set screws Replace the last 2 remaining screws that hold the base cover to the front arm sole.
