The scene: You will be writing a letter to one of the parents of Romeo and Juliet to inform them of Romeo and Juliet’s marriage and to try to persuade them to accept it. You may also choose to contact the Prince in regards to the nuptials. You will want to enlist his help by convincing him that this marriage is beneficial to the families and his city of Verona.

The Writers: You may write from any of the following points of view: Nurse Juliet Romeo Friar Lawrence

The Writing Situation: Persuade your reader—parents or Prince—of the need for this marriage, the value, the truth, the effect it will have. Plead the case for this marriage and explain your involvement in it. End with your hope for action—remind the reader of the point, the significance, of your letter
