How did the south become dependent on slave labor ?

South did not diversify its ’ economy, the land was suited for farming crops that required a lot of labor, there was a huge demand for cotton, the north needed the cotton in its ’ textile mills, the Constitution allowed slavery.

States right, right to property, economic necessity, slavery existed even in ancient times

Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, William Lloyd Garrison, Frederick Douglass, Grimike sisters, John Brown
