 You must obtain 1500 hours in school not only doing hair, but learning about chemistry, electricity, and other sciences as well. You then must pass your State Board Exam.

 There are two parts to this exam. ◦ Practical ◦ Written During the practical, you have to be able to wrap a perm, do a 90 degree haircut, a manicure, facial, and a color on your mannequin all while a team of people watches over you and checks it when you finished.
