Join Trick It works!

Parcel with 4 cover types

Any > 100%

What did I do? Imported the tax data and the cover data into a new GDB In that process I deleted the shape_area fields So ArcGIS recreated them – but they were not different from the original shape-areas

And.. I carefully turned off all fields I did not need so I wouldn’t get confused Did the Join Created the % field Calculated the percentages / parcel ????????????????????

Then I Went back… To the original data The shape_area fields were incorrect Moral of the story ….

Now that we know that works… We wanted parcels that were between 40 and 60 Ag cover Select by attribute [pct]=>40 and [pct]<=60 Since did Intersect and joined TaxParcels this selected the stuff in the Intersect laye So, to get parcels join the intersect layer to the Tax Parcel area  selected parcels

Bummer… Even when I joined the intersect layer to the tax parcel layer I got values >100% I did check the area calculations for Tax Parcels by using a script to calculate area Perfect match Problem is in the intersection 

Leave that problem hang And look at some other types of things that can be done in GRIDS

Viewshed Used for placement of… –Cell Towers –TV station towers (vhf is line-of-site) –Microwave relay towers –Views from viewpoints
