Halloween is celebrated in America on the 31 st of October. It is a Christian festival originally called All Hallows Eve. It is the night before All Saints Day.

There are lots of Halloween symbols. They are pumpkins, black cats, spiders, ghosts, skeletons, witches and wizards. The most common is pumpkins.

 Trick-or-treating for candy.  Dressing-up in costumes like monsters and witches.  Lighting bonfires and telling scary stories

People eat special foods. They are candy, toffee apples and apple bobbing. Also some people may decorate their houses with jack-o-lantens.
