Class of 70 Legacy Gift Project Work with the Naval Academy foundation to support the strategic priorities and mission of the U. S. Naval Academy, U.S. Naval Academy Foundation, and U. S. Naval Academy Alumni Association Support role and mission of Foundation Raise, manage and disburse private gift funds Funds provide margin of excellence to USNA Foundation takes leads in soliciting funds Uses IDC as agent to make solicitation calls Goal: $707,070 or more to be raised from July 1, 2006 to December 31, 2010 Components of Class of 70 Legacy Gift (May contribute to one or all) Athletic Excellence ($250,000) Center for Ethical Leadership ($250,000) Annual Fund ($207,070)

Components Athletic Excellence (Continue our Momentum: 4 bowl games, 4 Commander in Chief trophies, 2004 National Lacrosse Championship game, Women’s Lacrosse added—many others) NAAA goal is to ensure that facilities, equipment and coaching are provided to attract retain and develop the finest student athletes in the nation. Athletic excellence fund provides on time non recurring private resources to meet emerging athletic needs not met by appropriated dollars Class of 70 goal is to donate a minimum of $250,000 to the Athletic Excellence Fund during the time period of the Legacy Gift Project.

Components Ethical Leadership (today’s challenging leadership environment demands a strong focus in this area) Goals: to develop midshipmen as officers of character who are motivated and ready to lead in combat. Develop midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically Ethical leadership taught in order to instill the ability to make morally sound and ethically correct decisions Capstone Character Excellence Seminar: Real life examples from the fleet and USMC facilitated by outside leaders and taught to each first class midshipman Donated private funds help to make this the example for other organizations to emulate with regard to ethical leadership and moral decision making Class of 70 Goal is to donate a minimum of $250,000 to the Center for Ethical Leadership and sponsor the Capstone Character Excellence Seminar.

Components Annual Fund ( Most flexible and immediate way to contribute to the improvement of the Naval Academy) Allows Superintendent to meet both immediate and ongoing needs of the Brigade Supports mission critical activities of Naval Academy Alumni Association ; such as, Shipmate and the usna website. Supports fundraising and other activities of the U. S. Naval Academy Foundation Class goal is to contribute a minimum of $207,070 to the Annual Fund.

Summary Excellent Opportunity for Class of 70 to provide a legacy gift to the U. S. Naval Academy Can target funds in any or all of three areas If a portion of your support is for the Annual Fund you will not be contacted for additional Annual Fund support while paying the installments on that pledge component Fundraising, leadership, tracking provided by the Foundation Recognition of Class gifts will occur
