What is YAC? The Leelanau Township Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is made up of Northport High School students who make recommendations to the foundation about grants supporting programs to benefit youth in Leelanau Township. YAC members are given the opportunity to learn about philanthropy and volunteerism, and are empowered and encouraged to initiate positive change in our community by advocating projects that are important, fun, and engaging to younger residents.

What do we do? Meet monthly to discuss and vote on community grant requests. Educate Leelanau Township youth on available programs and opportunities. Volunteer within our school and community. Fundraise for special events, programs and purchases.
