You Can Measure the Benefits… 5  The water plants usually provide a very convenient environment for ultrasonic level measurement.  Wastewater treatments present a more difficult measurement environment, with vapors and gases, foam and steam that result in water condensation.  Ultrasonic level measurement technology is a common method of measuring flow through an open channel.
