Diversity Week Diversity seems normal to us. We live in a multi-cultural city. Human rights seem normal. We accept them as a given. The truth is that respect for human rights and diversity is not normal. We live in an amazing blip in human history. Diversity should be celebrated. That’s what this week is all about.

Nelson Mandela  On racism, from his autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom, published 1994 "No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite." Read through this quote. What does it mean ? Do you agree ?

What's going on this week  The debate club will be debating the value of multiculturalism.  Diversity will be highlighted in your lessons.  The red Cross will be coming to talk to year 9  A hidden talent show. Most importantly this week is a chances for you to stop and reflect on the amazing society we live in. A society that is diverse and worth celebrating.
