Presentation transcript:

Harriet’s real name was Araminta, but when she was a little girl they called her Minty. Harriet also could not go to school because she was forced to do heavy work. When Harriet was only seven years old she was sold by the Master. Harriet was whipped so often she had scars on her neck for the rest of her life. By the time she was 11 she was very strong and she could do heavy work from sunrise to sunset. She loaded the wood into wagons, she also plowed the corn fields. When Harriet was just 13 years old she was struck in the head with an iron weight. Harriet escaped from being a slave in After Harriet escaped she was wanted dead or alive and there was an award for 40 thousand dollars.

 Born:,.,.,.,.,.1820 in Maryland  Death:,.,.,., 1913 in Auburn New York, she lived to be 93 years old.  Family: Her parents lived in Auburn, New York. Mom-Old Rit Dad-Ben, who were negro slaves. She also had brothers and sisters who were slaves. She married John Tubman.

Harriet was not aloud to go to school because she was forced to do heavy work as a slave. Conditions She had a very hard life because she was forced to be a slave.

 One of her many major accomplishments was freeing more than 300 slaves.  Another major accomplishment was during a war she rescued and freed about 750 people.  Tubman became the only woman to successfully carry out a rescue during a war.  Her home is now a museum that honors her courage and extraordinary ability.

Kate Harriet Tubman was a very important person, she freed hundreds of slaves, and she was also a very strong person. Joanna My personal reflection of Harriet Tubman is that she was hard working, was a very strong person and had many major accomplishments.
