CREATING YOUR OWN CHARACTER
Presentation transcript:

In iclone, you choose one of the various avatars from the station that are offered. You then can change their bodies to make them short, tall, fat, strong, etc. You can change their clothing and accessories to match any character type. The scenery and props can be changed along with their skin and the individual pieces of their body like the eyes and mouth. Animation can be added to your avatar which can be chosen from a lengthy list of different options.

You can place a picture of someone’s head on an avatar from the program. You begin by taking a picture of the person and then fixing the various points of their face to match the avatar’s position. They then act like a normal avatar and can be made to perform animations just like a normal avatar.

You can change a single avatar’s face and appearance. You can change the eyes of your character by using the “Eye Tool” in facial animation. The mouth can also be changed to make your person a vampire, hillbilly, or anything.

You can create scenes for your avatar to perform in. This is a 2-Dimesional Scene This is a 3-Dimensional scene Various props can be added to a scene These are various props that can be added.

You can change the colors and other characteristics of clothing. The choices for changing colors are saturation, hue, contrast and brightness. The picture on the right is the hero avatar with all of his clothing set on 200% Saturation.

We couldn’t figure out how to move a prop to make it look realistic. We figured out how to move objects and placed them in the other hand. We didn’t know how to move props and they kept appearing in the middle of people. Props had to be moved and the camera view had to be changed to view the larger props.

It was quite fun to customize an avatar and apply a motion to them. Adding props and accessories was interesting. Accessories were hard to maneuver to make them look realistic. Their wasn’t much to do after you create a character.

Don’t spend too much time messing around. Spend as little time on the original iClone, so that you can access the newer version of iClone with many newer types of characters and props. This picture to the right is a project that can be created on the newer version.

iClone is a very basic form of animation that will help get you acquainted with the animation process for various applications. This station is an excellent starter tool for a long career in anything that involves animation. This station is perfect for creating short films or small sections of animations or scenes. It’s a lot of fun if you know what you’re doing.
