 We have seen the importance of technology continue to grow.  It has been in a key part in some of the world’s largest advancements.  The use of technology has impacted the medical field in numerous ways.  Aside from doctors, nurses, and other certified professionals, the use of budding technology has assisted in saving the lives of many. technology

 The internet is one of the most specific and much desired aspects of the computer world.  It has also began to link individuals within hospitals to some of the medical field’s most vital pieces of information.  Within the medical field, it is vital for quick access to medical archives and key in referencing. internet

 Social media is another fun part the computer and the internet has provided for us.  MySpace, Facebook, and Twittering are just 3 examples.  As of quite recent, a new activity doctors and nurses are taking part in, in the OR is actually twittering.  It has caused quite a buzz, but for the most part people aren’t complaining.

 According to the twitter website, twittering is….  An information network  Twitter is a real-time information network that connects you to the latest information about what you find interesting. Simply find the public streams you find most compelling and follow the conversations.”  Doctors have created accounts and patients families, etc. follow to read up on how the surgery is going.

 “It’s an exciting new medium and a new way to communicate,” she said.  "I wanted a record for other people who might be interested in the same surgery," added Hendrick, who also posted photos and video of his surgery. "It later allowed me to connect with others with the same issues.“  "Newer and newer generations are used to putting their life online," he said. "This generation shares everything."

 I love the idea about twittering from the operating room.  Integrating new technology has been vital for patient care and learning expansion.  News ways of communication are key.
