Then several things started to happen Iowa Core Curriculum Integrated Language Arts Curriculum Review Students speak out Have books or topics kids would relate to and enjoy. Make the English courses more connective to problems that teenagers have today. Iowa Core Curriculum Update book choice s to newer, more excitin g choice s. The courses offered now are very general, which is good for overall education but not necessarily specific interest.

12th Grade Year Used to be... Choose another reading (now 5 choices) Choose another writing (now 4 choices)

12th Grade Year Now is... Choose another Frameworks I (now 6 choices) Choose another Frameworks II (now 7 choices) OR Choose one of the new Capstone courses (to be offered in ) 6 choices
