Goal 1- Leadership development capacity building In Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting we develop strategic leadership skills through: New approaches and Innovative methods Innovative leadership models Involvement of girls and young women in decision-making Quality programmes and development opportunities Strategic partnerships Value based international network for women leaders

Leadership development in WAGGGS National WAGGGS Regional Global We do it at different levels

Support development executive to provide training for national board members Training in succession planning, mentoring and coaching Support more MOs to have their Training Schemes updated and accredited by WAGGGS MOs include in their Training Schemes the partnership they have and potential partners in the area of leadership development MOs work towards an accredited /recognized leadership training for volunteers (Governmental and non Governmental organizations in the country) Priorities National Activities Growing strong national leadership teams Strong leadership development for adults Collaborating and networking with strategic partners

Priorities Enhancing the capacity of trainers to support MOs Defining a framework for trainers that brings consistency between the regions Learning from each other Succession planning to support Committee members Regional Work with regions to train and support regional trainers, defining the levels of trainers and competences. Support training events at regional level (Africa region in November) Identify trainers to be trained as WLDP facilitators in leadership and advocacy Exploring opportunities of learning and sharing between regions of good practices through e-learning Develop resource materials on Succession Planning, coaching and mentoring to be used by regions Activities

 Preparing leaders including Young women for global leadership  Build a competent pool of leaders  WAGGGS at the forefront of leadership developing thinking  Communicate WAGGGS leadership developing philosophy to keep stake holders Priorities WAGGGS Enhance leadership skills and competences through WAGGGS world events, WLDP, Regional and World Centres events Update the training policy and guidelines Develop a coaching and mentoring system Create and nurture a pool of facilitators, coaches and mentors Develop an on-line system as a tool to support leadership development at all levels in WAGGGS Constantly update the WLDP in line with the needs of members as well as strengthen partnerships with Educational Institutions and other INGOs Communicate and promote the WLDP to MOs, WAGGGS Committee, OB-PS and Friends... Develop a strong sense of female leadership and global leadership and develop a strong sense of a learning organization within WAGGGS Activities

 Leadership at a global level  Official recognition of WAGGGS facilitators /trainers  Strengthening networks at global level  Position WAGGGS as a leader in leadership development WAGGGS a leader in Learning and leadership development Priorities Global -Provide opportunities for young women to experience leadership in other organizations and invite young women from different INGOs to experience WAGGGS leadership -Explore the possibilities of official recognition of competencies by an authorized organization -Share WAGGGS leadership development experiences and expertise with targeted partners. -Create a network that encourages the exchange of facilitators among targeted partners -Strategic positioning of the WLDP by communicating it to the Alliance of Youth CEOs (Big Six) and relevant INGOs and UN Agencies -Share expertise with identified organizations in female and global leadership Activities

Where are we now… In the past 2 years We had 2 facilitators workshop and 7 WLDP events Trained 64 facilitators Appointed 25 WLDP facilitators Developed 8 modules –in 3 languages- and A facilitation guide A succession planning toolkit – A coaching and mentoring toolkit -to support regions- working now on a “Online Learning Community” that will increase our target group 256 Participants ASIA PACIFIC 45 participants from 16 countries 16/25 MOs: 64% AFRICA 71 participants From 29countries 29/31 MOs:94% ARAB 43 participants from 11 countries 11/14 MOs: 79% WESTERN HEMISPHERE 38 participants from 17 countries 17/36 MOs: 48% EUROPE 59 participants from 24 countries 24/39 MOs 62%
