ROMA, NEW FRENCH FEAR Who are the the Roma? Who are the the Roma? The "Roma" are mostly Romanian and Bulgarian nationality, so citizens of the European Union. The term "Roma", which means "man" in Romani, is commonly used to refer to a branch of the Roma population. Often rejected in their own country, living in poverty, they have partly chosen to emigrate to Western Europe. How many are they in France? How many are they in France? There are between 15,000 and 20,000 Roma in France, according to the Council of Europe. According to the association Médecins du Monde, 15,000 lived in France for twenty years, a constant figure despite evictions, as people returned to their countries of origin often return

Where are they? Where are they?

Their living conditions… Their living conditions… With 10 to 12 million people, the Roma are the largest minority in Europe ethyne. Many Roma continue to live with their nomadic lifestyle, traveling in caravans or trailers, but often in Eastern Europe they live in marginal communities with high unemployment rates. Roma in France living in extreme poverty. Doctors of the World alleges that France does not respect the right to housing, the right to health protection, social protection, the right to social and medical assistance, the right of the family to social, legal, economic (...) and lots of other rights of the Roma do not have. roma's camp…

The results… The results… To meet their needs, some Roma commit crimes. The police said that the offenses committed by the Roma have increased since April, from 18 to 45 cases per month in June and 84 in July. These people make false collections for pseudo- association deaf at sidewalk cafes. They also engage in door to door in buildings and villas. Their goal: to enter the housing, distract its occupants with an accomplice, and seize money or valuables. They also rob their victims in the street, especially the elderly. Police are recommending that people take steps to guard against these thefts: lock entries from the slot, do not let these people do not stop in the street to talk with them as they seek only distract their victim. The police also recommends notifying the elderly, the main targets of these crimes, and complain immediately in case of theft.

Their integration… Their integration… The level of integration of Roma is very variable. In France Roma expulsions increased from 2,000 in 2003 to 8,000 in 2008, since 2007 the number of lines on the border of Romanian Roma in France between 8000 and 9000 per year. These returns are large, willing parties, as they are accompanied by premium of € 300 per adult and € 100 per child. In 2009, France expelled 10,000 Roma from Romania or Bulgaria. 9 September 2010 the European Parliament called for the suspension of these forced returns. …Roma being expulsed

The aids… The aids… Since the Roma’s migration in our country, France is experiencing a worsening financial crisis. This country is a democracy, so it should help all people are in need. Many aids have been established to meet the lack of them. For example, £ 300 per adult and 100 per child is offered to Roma families before being returned to their origin’s contry. Because of these aids some Roma fun to return to France in order to take advantage of financial aids. Other aids are offer like the Family allowances, the individual housing or the basic allowance for infants. But many criteria must be met to enter these aids and most of the Roma can’t afford those.
