How Does Litter Effect our Oceans? What types of litter are most commonly found on beaches?

Hypothesis: I predict that glass is most commonly found on beaches I predict that glass is most commonly found on beaches

Beach Clean-Up I scheduled a beach clean up with peers to discover what types of litter are found on the beach using this chart. I scheduled a beach clean up with peers to discover what types of litter are found on the beach using this chart. Types of debris Quantity (use tally marks) Total Glass Plastic Rubber Paper Metal

Results According to our data, plastic was the most common type of trash found on our beach. According to our data, plastic was the most common type of trash found on our beach. Other types included: rubber, paper, fishing line and metal Other types included: rubber, paper, fishing line and metal

Comparing Data I compared our chart to the a national chart of beach debris and the two were similar. Plastic is the leading type of debris for both charts. I compared our chart to the a national chart of beach debris and the two were similar. Plastic is the leading type of debris for both charts.
