CPPS/UNESCO/CI Partnership Conservation and Sustainable use of Mangroves in the Southeast Pacific Objective: Promote the conservation of the biodiversity and rational use of the resources from mangroves in order to support the communities depending on these peculiar ecosystem. To develop a Regional Action Plan to support communities in the conservation of mangroves

CPPS/UNEP/FAO/CI Partnership to raise Regional Awareness on Marine Litter Activities: Workshops to raise awareness with fishermen and school teachers on marine litter. Prepare educational material (videos, posters, leaflets etc) Organize a network of teachers and students – Friends of the Sea – to promote activities like beach clean ups and awareness campaigns.

Main Objective To raise awareness in fishing communities in the Southeast Pacific countries, addressing environmental problems generated by marine litter, including its proper disposal and/or reuse, looking into practical and environmentally friendly solution Establishment of the Network "Friends of the Sea", in order to combat marine litter in the Southeast Pacific countries (UNEP / CPPS).
