St Michael’s annual Spring Clean of the school grounds.

The annual Spring Clean of our grounds took place on Friday 1 st March

The spring clean was part of the Oxford City Ox Clean initiative which encourages people to look after the environment and also part our Comenius Project which is focusing on ‘Ecology’

The children worked together in teams to clear the grounds of litter.

We cleared litter from the playground and the play equipment.

We also made sure that our field and the bushes around the edge of our school site were cleared of litter.

The areas close to the edge of the building and the car park were given a spring clean by some of our older pupils.

As part of our Comenius Project, partner schools in Austria, Bulgaria, Italy and Slovenia will be Spring Cleaning their school environments.

Our Year 1 pupils also read stories to encourage them to look after our environment.

Although we try to keep our grounds free of litter all year round, our Spring Clean did give us all a chance to think about how important it is to PUT RUBBISH IN THE BIN!

We would like to thank our Year 5 Supervisors for organising the groups and the equipment during our 2013 Spring clean.
