Module 4B Further development of ideas in 2- man groups Estimated time: 45 minutes

Idea-development in pair of two

3D CASE: Stork – frog – pregnant woman 1. Please stand up 2. Find together two and two with someone who has the same length of shoelaces as yourself 4. You now play stone, scissor and paper, they are replaced by a stork (Hands clapping like a big mouth), frog (knee and make a small jump while saying “quak”) and a pregnant woman (lean backwards while you groan loudly). Make them practice each of them a couple of times in parallel 5. The stork can win over the frog, the frog can win over the pregnant woman, and the pregnant woman can win over the stork. If you can win you should touch your partners shoulders before he/she can protect them 6. I count to 3. On 3 you are either a stork, a pregnant woman or a frog 7. Demonstrate 8. Make three rounds of this exercise

3D CASE: Write a letter, one word at a time 1. Put the participants together in groups of 3 2. Make them sit together 3. Hand out a piece of paper – 1 piece per group 4. The one holding the paper should have a pen 5. You should now write a paper and you are each only allowed to write one word at a time. Do not speak during this exercise 6. The paper and the pen goes from hand to hand in the 3-man group while you each add one word at a time 7. Remember to start with “Dear”, following “Regarding” and finishing off with a “Best regards” 8. I tell you when to stop

Dear … Regarding… (Text) … Best regards…

3D CASE: Make a story, one word at a time 1. Same 3-man groups 2. Create a circle of your group 3. You should now develop a story, one word at a time 4. The story starts with “Once upon a time…” 5. The story goes from hand to hand in the 3-man group while you each add one word at a time 6. If one says “Start over, then you start over with “Once upon a time…” 7. Whoever last went to a hairdressor starts

3D CASE: What happens next? 1. Find together two and two with someone who has the same go to bed time as yourself 2. You now stand in the middle of huge and dark forest. You want to get out of the forest but don’t know the way. On your way out you experience strange things 3. The one starts by saying “See, here is a path. Lets follow that” and then asks the partner “What happens next?” 4. You start walking 5. Take turns to develop a short part of the story of what happens on the way out of the forest. Every time one of you have added a part to the story he/she hands the story over by asking “what happens next” 6. Demonstrate 7. The one with most dark clothes on starts

3D CASE: New offer? 1. Find together two and two with someone who has the same maindoor colour in the home as yourself 2. When the story is handed over to you you are allowed to “New offer”. Then the partner should attempt to make an alternative version of the part of the story he/she just did 7. Demonstrate 8. Whoever has the most clothes on starts

Further development of ideas in 2-man groups 1. Stay with your partner 2. Use “what happens next”, “start over” and “new offer” to further develop the ideas you have selected 3. The one who has the longest legs start by bringing forward his/her idea 4. Make sure they ONLY work on one idea at a time 5. After the first round they should write down all the ideas on a piece of paper, before they start with the idea of the partner 6. Now one with not so long legs start by bringing forward his/her idea 7. Again you finish the round by making them write down all their ideas on a piece of paper

Problem Here you present the problem (shortly) again

Develop your ideas further one at a time by using: What happens next… and New offer
