Web Page A theme in the American drama..

Mr. Paul L. Nelson Anderson High English Lit. I, at first, expected to be weighed down with a ton of work that I would simply dismiss after the project was over. I was mistaken! I have always been interested in computers since the days of the “Commodore Pet” computers that appeared in my grammar school classrooms. My expectations now are for me to develop a teacher website for all my classes and continue to learn about computers. I would also love to be able to teach computers classes (someday)! This class has been a lot of work, but very useful. I feel it’s truly a DEVELOPMENTAL course.

Mr. Paul L. Nelson Anderson High English Lit. This page has all the elements required for a great lesson. The standards, objectives, activities, and resources are clearly stated. There are links to websites and documents needed for this lesson.

Mr. Paul L. Nelson Anderson High English Lit. After reading The Crucible, students will be able to explain the modern American drama theme of “the breaking of charity." Students will be able to interpret literary elements used in the literature with special emphasis on character motivation. Students will be able to apply a variety of reading strategies to the literature, including interpreting a text. Students will be able to respond to literature through listening/speaking, writing, and viewing/representing activities. Students will analyze and interpret new vocabulary words. Students will be able to collect ideas for an autobiographical essay or power point presentation.

Mr. Paul L. Nelson Anderson High English Lit. I created a web page of my own design, including: layout, graphics, text art, clip art, and specific links to other pages and places. I created and linked word documents to my lessons page. I learned how to create a spreadsheet with support charts for class grades. Put together this marvelous power point presentation. Evaluated my unit and made some improvements.

Mr. Paul L. Nelson Anderson High English Lit. With this lesson I have the film The Crucible as well as the entire first act recorded on CD from an on-stage performance of the play. Students are allowed to put together a presentation using power point.

Mr. Paul L. Nelson Anderson High English Lit. This unit has been successful without this extra technology being used the two years I have been teaching it. I am looking forward to having everything available on the site for my student use. This lesson should be easy to grasp and very beneficial for my students. Each year we get different students in our classroom with different work ethics. I hope that this format will appeal to all kinds of students with all level of ability.

Mr. Paul L. Nelson Anderson High English Lit. This graph reflects the diversity in grades from each activity from the online lesson. Students have a variety achievement levels based on individual skills and work ethic.

Mr. Paul L. Nelson Anderson High English Lit. This is a very worthwhile class. I have learned an incredible amount about web design and teaching with technology. I now know that there are now more resources for me to use to design great lessons.
