Puberty fifth grade

Puberty Puberty is a kid becoming an adult. As you begin puberty, your body and your feelings change a lot. You also may feel differently about your family, friends and classmates-and view the things that they do in whole new ways. You may feel like changing what you do with friends, the way you dress and the things you talk about. The differences are "social" and "behavioral" changes.

Puberty Usually between the ages of 8 and 18 years old, your body starts growing and changing. These changes occur from head to toe, and are completely natural as your body responds to increased hormones. In girls, the main hormone guiding the body's new instructions is called estrogen. In guys, it's testosterone. All of these changes together are called "puberty."

Puberty Puberty means major changes, but is simply your body's transition from childhood to adulthood. You may even begin to wonder where you fit in the world. These changes physical and emotional are NORMAL!

Puberty There is no exact age when everyone experiences puberty. This differs from person to person. Girls can expect to experience puberty between the ages of 8 and 17. Boys can expect puberty between the ages of 10 and 18.

Body Changes This is a very confusing and awkward time for all teenagers. It's normal! There are many changes that occur. Expect to feel unsure. Some changes occur in both boys and girls. Others occur based on which sex you are.

Boys Typically boys start their "growth spurt" between the ages of 12 and 13 years. Boys voices will change. Boys start growing a beard. The penis will grow larger, and testicles will get bigger and hang lower. Start wearing a cup or strap if you are active in sports. Start having erections more frequently. (sometimes sooner, sometimes later)

Teenagers Each teenager is an individual with a unique personality and special interests-likes and dislikes. However, there are developmental changes that everyone has during puberty. Feeling awkward or strange about one's self and one's body Focus between high expectations and poor self- concept Interests and clothing style influenced by peer group Moodiness Complaints that adults interfere with independence Tendency to return to childish behavior, particularly when stressed
