Presentation transcript:

 Be sure to create a profile to be eligible for Dollars for Scholars scholarships. Profile instructions can be found on the Career Center website: under the “Scholarships” tab. Read the instructions carefully under “Dollars for Scholars.”  Students who do not create a profile will not be able to apply to Dollars for Scholars scholarships.

 Make sure your profile is thorough! The deadline to complete your profile is March 1, This is also the start of the application window. You will have until April 1, 2015 to apply to the scholarships you match to.  There is a tutorial on how to apply for these scholarships on our website.  Be watching your Student Access account—we will send out periodic reminders.

 In addition to applying for Dollars for Scholars scholarships, Seniors should also be visiting the Career Center Scholarship Bin on a continuous basis for local and national scholarships. We recommend checking “The Bin” as often as 1-2 times per week. It can be found in the Career Center under the American Flag. These scholarships are also featured under the “Scholarships” link on the Career Center website just below the Dollars for Scholars links.

 Have you applied to the college of your choice? Make sure to get applications in before the deadlines pass.  Your applications are not complete until you do the following:  Submit a high school transcript (through parchment.com) and any College in the Schools transcripts you may have  Complete ACT/Accuplacer testing  Pay application fee (if required by the college)

 Required to graduate  Parents are encouraged to attend  Needs to be scheduled prior to the end of the year  Contact your Career Advisor to schedule your Senior Interview!  Last names beginning with A-K meet with Staci Kuhnke:  Last names beginning with L-Z meet with Thia Kampa:

 All 18 year old males are required BY LAW to register for Selective Service.  Can register by going to sss.gov.  You will not be eligible for Financial Aid until you register. There is a link on the FAFSA website where you can automatically register.  If you have questions, please visit the website above.

 There are no college reps currently scheduled to visit CIHS, but this will change soon. Be checking the college rep sign up sheet in the Career Center for the college(s) you’re interested in, as they will again be visiting us in the coming month or two.

 Focus  Organization  Ask Questions  Enjoy Senior Status!!  This presentation can be accessed on the Career Center’s webpage.
