for Container Terminal Management SOLVO.TOS Integrated Solution for Container Terminal Management

Solvo’s History 1992 Solvo was founded. First USA-based projects were implemented in cooperation with RGTI, BDM, TRW, and MARC (MarcGlobal). 1995 Solvo LLC was registered officially in Russia. Solvo independently started to design, develop and implement its own solutions and offer them to Russian businesses. 1999 Completed implementation of two major solutions: Solvo.WMS for Warehouse Management and Solvo.CTMS for Container Terminal Management. Solvo became LXE’s reseller in Russia. 2001 Solvo.CTMS deployed at the First Container Terminal, St Petersburg, Russia. 2005 Solvo’s corporate quality management system was certified for ISO 9001:2000. Solvo and JDA announced partnership on Supply Chain Control systems market. Solvo.DMS container-terminal document management system was released. 2007 2012 Solvo’s staff exceeded the total of 150 employees. Solvo successfully accomplished its strategic plans for the market of Warehouse and Container Terminal Management systems. 2

Integrated Solution Modules

Business Process Management 5

Contract Registration

Commercial Activity 7

Information Interaction Data Exchange (UN/EDIFACT): CODECO – Confirmation of entry to, or departure from, the terminal of containers via road or rail transport CUSCAR – Import cargo manifests (bills of lading) BAPLIE – Unloading list, and container shipboard placement map (export and import) COPRAR – Loading list

Rendered Services

Payment Calculation for Rendered Services

Container Terminal Topology Editor Each container can be viewed for details and its location within the terminal. The container terminal topology can be changed in the topology editor included in the system.

Vessel Operations

Vessel Bay Plan Editor Each vessel’s cargo plan can be created using a special editor.

Receiving Containers Imported by Vessels

Monthly Planning of Vessel Processing A preliminary monthly vessel call schedule is created in the system.

Vessel call scheduling Information regarding containers to be discharged and vessel call schedules is sent from the service center to the container terminal. Vessel berthing is registered in the system.

Loading / Unloading Scheduling The system includes container unloading scheduling. The unloading plan is sent to the crane operator. 17

Container Unloading from a Vessel

Unloading Containers from a Vessel Various layouts for unloading containers from a vessel with subsequent transfer to the warehouse are supported in the system. 19

Container Registration by Tallyman The tallyman registers containers in the system via a radio terminal.

Receiving by a Tallyman A record of the tallyman operation and container inspection certificates are created in the system after the tallyman has received a load.

Registration of Vessel Call Loading and Unloading Operations

Container Putaway After a container is registered by the tallyman, the system will search for a storage location based on putaway rules and strategies.

Handling Equipment Management The system supports all types of load handling equipment at the terminal.

Container Putaway The system issues jobs to handling equipment operators for putting away containers to their destination location.

Location Addressing in Solvo.CTMS

Location Addressing in Solvo.CTMS

Location Addressing in Solvo.CTMS

REF Site Management SOLVO.TOS sends tasks to the refrigerator operator to connect/disconnect REF-containers.

Blocking RTG Rows The system blocks locations or rows in RTG stacks for container putaway, if a row has container that are assigned to be moved.

GPS Integration Containers are allocated at the terminal with the use of GPS and container pick-up sensors.

Konecranes C-Pics and Kalmar Smartrail Integration SOLVO.CTMS integrates with vehicle-born positioning systems via RS-232.

Export Container Forwarding by Vessels

Load Planning SOLVO.CTMS enables automatic planning of shipments by type, weight class and hazard class.

Load Planning

Container Loading onto Vessels The system issues tasks to handling equipment operators to move containers under a crane. The tallyman registers container loading onto the vessel.

Operative Monitoring and Analytics

Gate Operations

Delivery of Export Container via Road Transport

Time Slotting The time slotting feature is used by the management system to distribute handling equipment workload when processing trucks.

Web-Portal

Web Portal The container terminal’s customers can send truck visits requests via SOLVO’s web portal.

Accreditation of Drivers and Vehicles

Truck Visit Registration The SOLVO.DMS system handles all necessary procedures regarding the registration of truck visits.

Road Transport Registration A list of containers to be loaded or unloaded with the assigned truck is sent from SOLVO.DMS to SOLVO.CTMS.

Road Transport Registration Vehicle in-gate and out-gate operations are managed and tracked by the gate operator via a workstation interface or radio terminal.

Trailer Registration The tallyman enters the truck’s container description via the radio terminal.

Depending on the container damage, the MS: Container Repair Depending on the container damage, the MS: Moves the container to a stack Enables “on-site repair” Moves the container to a repair zone Rejects the container from being received

Unloading Containers from a Shuttle Car An operator confirms the completion of a job via the radio terminal, after which the shuttle car moves on to the next processing location. SOLVO.CTMS по правилам обработки автоплатформ определяет момент постановки автоплатформы в ячейку обработки. Затем выдает работу оператору ричстакера на выгрузку контейнера с автоплатформы и его размещение в зону хранения.

Shipping of Import Containers via Road Transport

Shifting Optimization The system minimizes non-productive container moves (shifts) and reduces the amount of distance and time needed for equipment runs.

Loading Containers to Motor Platform (RTG) The system sends an SMS-message to the trailer driver to move the trailer to the cell under the stack. Adjacent cells are blocked automatically. Trailers arrive to processing cells. Processing the trailers is done in order of decreasing priorities. SOLVO.CTMS issues a command to an RPG operator to put the container to a motor platform, and a proactive command to move the next motor platform to the stack cell to minimize RTG downtime. Processing priorities are calculated automatically based on various parameters, including the minimization of RTG moves. RTG 20 70 50 30 60 52

Rail Operations

Entry of Rail Waybills

Generating the Discharge List When a train arrives at the terminal. The system registers its flatcars and creates a discharge list. RMG

Discharging Containers From Flatcars The system issues a discharging jobs list to the RMG operator. The RMG operator unloads the specified containers from the flatcars. RMG

Container Registration by the Tallyman The tallyman registers the discharged containers in the system via the radio terminal. RMG

Container Putaway The system issues jobs to handling equipment operators to put away containers into their assigned locations.

Generating the Loading List The system generates a list of containers to load. RMG 59

Container Loading Planning Planning Parameters: Flatcar owner Destination station Platform technical restrictions Hazard class compatibility Weight compatibility Planning Optimization: FIFO by waybill date Flatcar loading by weight

Container Load Planning The system automatically performs container load planning, after which the dispatcher can manually edit the plan.

Container Drop-off The system creates jobs to drop off containers at transfer locations. The tallyman enters a description of the delivered containers. RMG

Loading Containers onto Flatcars The system issues container loading jobs to RMG operators. The train departs after loading is complete. RMG
