Agenda & Objectives  Agenda  Homework Check  Reminder  Do Now  Analyzing a Movie Trailer  Movie Trailer Project Expectations  Socratic Seminar Prep Work  Objectives & Standards  SWBAT identify key elements of a movie trailer as evidence  SWBAT explain how such elements contribute to the effectiveness of the movie trailer   SWBAT identify strong and relevant evidence to support their claims about “The Yellow Wall-paper” as preparation for their Socratic seminar  SWBAT explain how their evidence proves their claim  STANDARDS : RL1, RL5

 Your Socratic seminar is this coming Wednesday (odds) / Thursday (evens).

 “Reflecting on how authors use pathos, ethos, logos in their writing to shape our minds”  Ms. Rodriguez will come around to stamp yours.

Do NOW!  If you were a movie director, and you were making a film version of “The Yellow Wall-paper,” which famous actors would you cast for each character? Why?

Let’s Analyze a Movie Trailer!   Only watch the trailer the first time.  Then, take notes on your graphic organizer the second time you watch.

 Now, answer the questions on your graphic organizer.  Be ready to discuss your answers in a few minutes.

Movie Trailer Project  Let’s go over the expectations.  This is your opportunity to ask questions as well.

Socratic Seminar Prep Questions  Answer all questions as part of your prep work. Remember that I will be looking for strong, relevant evidence that is cited from the text, as well as thorough analysis for proof of claims made in the seminar.
