2011 FIMS /Real Estate Workshop Las Vegas, NV June 14, 2011 Presented by: Michael Kohut, DOE Headquarters (EES) Gayle Smith, DOE Headquarters (EES)

 New user friendly interface  Excel based upload files  Enhanced capability  Uses FIMS data field “English names”, not the database data field names  No longer … ◦ Have to format columns to specific widths ◦ Have to create two files for every upload set ◦ Have to upload to one FIMS database table at a time 2

 Provides 7 upload templates for inputting records to be uploaded  Provides detailed informative error messages  Generates an Excel file containing the records rejected by the upload ◦ Errors are highlighted by marking them in red 3

 Templates are created using a picklist  There are 7 upload templates  Building or Trailer  Building / Trailer / Structure  Capital Improvements  Land  Outgrant  Structure  Sustainability 4

 Each template represents the data fields that apply to the Upload type ◦ i.e. Building or Trailer, Building/Trailer/Structure  Capital Improvements, Outgrant and Sustainability data require more complex validation and are therefore separate upload templates 5

 Detailed informative error messages 6 Upload Failed: A column name in the header row is not correct Gross Square Feet

 Generates an Excel file which contains the records rejected by the upload ◦ Errors are highlighted by marking them in red 7

Provides data validation by:  Column Name  Data Field Type and Size  Property Type Consistency  Cross field  Data Field Value 8
