Moschus moschiferus – Musk deer

Moschus This remedy which comes from the Himalayan musk deer was first proved in Hahnemann’s Materia Medica Pura. It was widely used in Hahnemann’s day in the old school medicine and as a perfume.

Moschus It was known to the physicians of India long before the birth of Christ and continues to be a popular stimulant.

Moschus Moshus is a strongly hysterical remedy where the patient complains intensely, but where the symptoms are erratic.

Moschus The patient can be very anxious and fearful of their condition and of death.

Moschus Complains without knowing what ails them. Imaginary diseases.

Moschus Suited to spoiled sensitive natures. - Selfish, obstinate. Resort to all kinds of means to have her whims satisfied.

Moschus Lies about illness or fakes, to get what they want.

Moschus Quarrelsome. Irritable. Violent anger. Scolding till lips are blue.

Moschus Talks to himself and makes gestures.

Moschus Uncontrollable laughter, alternating with weeping.

Moschus What James Tyler Kent says: Moschus cures many hysterical girls who have come to adult age without ever learning what obedience means. - They are self-willed, obstinate and selfish. - When they have been encouraged to resort to crafty cunning, to have every whim gratified from infancy to eighteen years of age they become fit subjects for Mosch., Asaf., Ignatia and Valer.

Moschus - They not only have volumes of real and imaginary symptoms, but they become adepts at producing at will a kaleidoscopic complex of symptoms, increasing in quantity and intensity until all their own desires are attained, and the onlooker, be he or she nurse, physician or bewildered mother, is overwhelmed, dismayed and in retreat. - However much they pretend to be honest and truthful their reported sensations are untrustworthy.

Moschus - They have traded upon their sensations and imagination so long that a direct effort to give a truthful statement is unsuccessful. - The most erratic and unexpected neuropathic phenomena are always in appearance. - The physician cannot measure these cases by his experience and say what is common and uncommon. - He is compelled to fall back upon the one word that covers a multitude of these manifestations viz., "Hysteria"

Moschus Spasmodic contraction of the throat and chest are common symptoms.

Moschus Fainting and hysterical fainting are very prominent symptoms for this remedy.

Moschus Moschus can be a very sexual remedy.

Moschus Recently Moschus was discovered to be a useful remedy for sudden, severe asthma with abdominal complaints and anxiety.

Moschus The most noted indication of Moschus for hysteria, as well as for epilepsy and hystero- epilepsy is a sensation of coldness and shivering.

Moschus It is also very effective in a certain type of diabetes that is associated with impotence. The patient emaciates daily and suffers from an insatiable thirst.

Moschus Difficult respiration; chest oppressed; hysterical spasm of chest; asthma. Tightness of chest, is obliged to take a deeper breath.

Moschus Hysterical palpitation. Trembling around heart. Weak pulse and fainting.

Moschus General symptoms include: - Fraudulent or hysterical disease. - Diseases do not follow the normal course. - Tendency to faint; while eating, during menses, etc.. - Sensation of coldness, general or in single parts. As if cold wind blowing on part. - agg. Cold. - agg. Menses, pregnancy. - Hysterical convulsions. Spasms.
