The Mitochondria produces energy. The folds inside the organelle, the cristae is where sugar, and oxygen are combined creating energy or ATP

The Mitochondria is like a battery. It gives whatever it is powering, energy. The Mitochondria is like the Energizer Bunny. The Energizer Bunny just keeps going and going, making the product run. The cell depends on the Mitochondria, like a remote depends on the batteries.
