D T D Detailed Troop Decontamination Amphibious Construction Battalion TWO D T D Detailed Troop Decontamination

Overview Detailed Troop Decon (DTD) involves: Turn-in, Decon, and Reissue of troop gear Checking for and deconing troop MOPP gear Re-issuing of new MOPP gear as required As a member of the DTD, you will: Monitor, identify, and handle contaminated items Ensure the safety of troops being deconned Re-issue MOPP gear and equipment to troops …all while in full MOPP gear for extended periods

Overview Decon Comes in 3 Levels: Immediate Operational Thorough - Skin decon - Operator spray down Operational - Vehicle wash down - MOPP Gear exchange Thorough - Detailed troop and equipment decon (DTD, DED) - Reduce contaminants to a negligible risk

Immediate Decontamination

Operational Decontamination

Thorough Decontamination

Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology Gear & Equipment Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology JSLIST - Good for 24 hours in a contaminated environment - 45 day life after opening the package - Can be laundered up to 6 times if not contaminated - Water resistant, but not waterproof - Old style gloves and boots still used with the JSLIST, will provide 24 hours of protection in a contaminated environment ...You will be required to operate decon stations in full MOPP Gear!

Gear & Equipment M291 & M295 Kits - Wallet like pouch with 6 decon packets - Black reactive and absorbent resin powder - Attached strap for inserting fingers - Applied by patting- not rubbing The M-295 is a larger version of the M-291 used for equipment decontamination...

Gear & Equipment M88 Chemical Agent Alarm System M22 Detector Unit M42 Remote Alarm M28 Power Source ...Used to detect chemical agents in the general area of the decontamination stations.

Gear & Equipment Improved Chemical Agent Monitor (ICAM) Detects Nerve and Blister agent vapors Wt: 4 lbs Length: 15.5” Operating Temp: -13 to 113 deg. F. ...Used to check for contamination on individuals being deconned.
