Objective/ Target Students will compose thesis statements that clearly state their perspective and opinion on the topic and include three reasons that support their opinion.
Big Idea A thesis statement is the writer’s opinion on the topic. It must be written in the form of a statement. It should guide the entire essay.
More Thesis Information A coherent thesis holds a piece of writing together. Its purpose is to set forth the writer’s perspective on the subject at hand. A thesis statement should be powerful enough to guide the direction of the entire piece of writing.
