2 Vienna Economic Forum, February 20 th – 21 st 2008 A few words about telecommunications environment in Moldova A regulatory environment close to European Union  Agency for Regulation (NARTI)  New Telecommunications Law (end 2007) A market very liberalized  4 actors in mobile domain (3 GSM, 1 CDMA)  Diversified actors on Internet fixed market  On traditional voice fixed domain, incumbent operator still prevailing Fast development  Mobile penetration: from 32% in 2005 to 55% in 2007  Internet broadband: from 0.3% in 2005 to 5% in 2007  Fixed penetration, still growing: 31% in % of GDP dedicated to telecommunications: a record in Europe !
