Hand and Arm Signals All signals used on the patrol must be planned and rehearsed Signals may include: lift or shift supporting fire, to start an assault, to order withdrawal from the objective, to signal "all clear," and to stop and start movement of the patrol All signals must be known by all patrol members.

Basic Hand & Arms Signals Point toward person(s) or unit(s); beckon by holding the arm horizontally to the front, palm up, and motioning toward the body. Join Me, Follow Me, or Come Forward

Basic Hand & Arms Signals

(Also known as: “Double Time” or “Rush”) DAY Raise the fist to shoulder level; thrust the fist upward to the full extent of the arm and back to shoulder level (rapidly) several times. NIGHT Move a light vertically several times in front of the body. Increase Speed
