Put on the armor of God

Walk In The Strength Of God Review 1. The belt of truth (v 14) – This is the Word of God that determines our beliefs, values and priorities in life. Are you willing to engage in spiritual battle? 2. The breastplate of righteousness (v 14) – This is the righteousness given us by God that enables us to live a holy life, giving us confidence before God and before men. Do you have confidence for spiritual battle? 3. The shoes of the gospel of peace (v 15) – These shoes give us readiness for action and firm-footed stability. Are you ready for spiritual battle? 4. The shield of faith (v 16) – Protects us against specific attacks from the enemy. Are you able to defend yourself from the fiery darts of Satan?

Ephesians 6: Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. 21 Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing. 22 I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you. 23 Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.

1 Corinthians. 2:16 “we have the mind of Christ.” Ephesians 4:22-24 “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Romans 6:11-12 “In the same way, count (reckon, consider) yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Colossians 3:2 says you are to “set your mind on things above, and not on the things that are on earth.”

Matthew 4:1-11 Jesus used the Sword of the Spirit “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." 4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: "'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'" 7 Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." 10 Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'" 11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

Check your armor. Are you using each piece? 1. Are you willing to engage in spiritual battle? If not, put on the belt of truth. 2. Do you have confidence for spiritual battle? If not, put on the breastplate of righteousness. 3. Are you ready for spiritual battle? If not, put on the shoes of the gospel. 4. Are you able to defend yourself from the fiery darts of Satan? If not, pick up the shield of faith. 5. Are you winning the battle of the mind? If not, put on the helmet of salvation. 6. Are you skilled in the use of God’s Word? If not, take up the sword of the Spirit. 7. Are you praying effectively and faithfully?
