Henderson 12/23/07 Lesson # But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; you are not in darkness darkness - skótos - spiritual darkness, implying ignorance or error see the following: John 8:12, John 12:46 and 1 John 1:5 the day would overtake you like a thief; “the day” – what is this referring to ? overtake - katalambanō - properly signifies "to lay hold of;" then, "to lay hold of so as to possess as one's own, to appropriate." like a thief or as a thief that the day shall come down upon you as a thief (Wuest)
