Oculus Rift Victoria & Howard

What is Oculus Rift  Oculus Rift is a set of virtual-reality goggles that will work with your computer or mobile device.  You pull a helmet over your head, and suddenly, you're inside a virtual world that seems completely lifelike. You can run around, fight, race and fly, doing things gamers have never done before.

How does the Oculus Rift work  A large cellphone screen  A set of lenses is placed on top of the screen  Goggles have embedded sensors

The latest news about the Oculus Rift  The DK2 version was introduced at CES  Including a 1080p OLED display. It could track head movement across six axes instead of three.  It also operated with a lag time of only 30 milliseconds.

How much does the Oculus Rift cost  The latest developer version costs $350.  Oculus VR has stated that a consumer version will be "affordable," but has not yet listed a price. When will a consumer version of Oculus Rift be available  Oculus VR has not announced a hard date for the consumer- oriented Oculus Rift.

What are the minimum requirement to use the Oculus Rift  requires a computer running Windows 7 or higher, Mac OSX 10.8 or higher, or Linux Ubuntu LTS or higher. What computer games are compatible with Oculus Rift  The Rift has support for two widely used game engines: Unity and Unreal Engine.

Treat panic and anxiety disorders ( 焦慮與恐慌症患者 ) 1.Virtual reality exposure therapy places the client in a computer-generated world where they "experience" the various stimuli related to their phobia. 2.The client wears a head-mounted display with small TV monitors and stereo earphones to receive both visual and auditory cues. 3.After an intake session and skill building sessions to teach the patient how to control automatic responses to anxiety-provoking situations.  Architecture 1.Designers and clients to examine homes and office buildings, and they also can walk through inside and outside in the architecture before they're built. 2.Designers can interactively test a building before construction begins

 Training and Education The medical application of VR was stimulated initially by the need of medical staff to visualize complex medical data, particularly during surgery and for surgery planning. soldier training 、 Flight simulation 、 Ground and water vehicles simulation 、 Submarines simulation are also used by the military.  Education Virtual reality has huge implications for education, Oculus Rift creator says "It's going to be really important for [science, technology, engineering, and mathematics] education. Because kids don't learn best from reading a book or looking at a chalk board," "I think virtual reality is going to make a lot of these experiences, like travelling to virtual locations or being able to see all of the planets to scale next to each other--it's going to take these things that are impossible to do today and make them part of everyday education," he added. He that travels far knows much. 行萬里路勝讀萬卷書 The Oculus Rift – Application

Team from Harvard University has created The Giza Project, a piece of software that allows you to travel through time and virtually explore the pyramids without leaving your home or paying for a flight to Egypt. The Giza Project Developers are also creating a virtual experience where you can "visit" Ancient Rome. The Oculus Rift advantages  Easy to apply in different industry head tracking -> the screen follows you wherever you're looking which makes the players motions that much more realistic  Allows people join any activity they want for example, traveling abroad without leaving your home Video: designs

The Oculus Rift disadvantages  Product is not friendly yet 1.the low resolution 、 too heavy design 2.You will feel dizzy if you use for a long time  Virtual reality sickness 1.Drunk in the virtual world 2.Serious impact on health  Let you in danger 1.Even the most sober of virtual reality explorers still have in dangers 2.Collision with an object of reality Video : v.s.
