Fire Fighters Are My Friends

This is where fire fighters work

This is what fire fighters drive

Sometimes we have to wear funny looking clothes to keep us safe from the smoke and fire. Don’t be afraid if you see me dressed like this!

Turnout Coat Air Tank Protective Gloves Air Mask Helmet Air Hose Waterproof Boots

When we get a call, we rush to the scene of the fire in our emergency vehicles

We run to the nearest fire hydrant with our hoses

And we hook our hose to the hydrant to get water to fight the fire

Then we spray water on the fire to put it out

Sometimes we have to climb up ladders to get inside the house to look for people or to put out the fire

If we do go inside - we crawl very low under the smoke

If we find someone in the fire, we carry them out as fast as we can

Sometimes fire fighters come to our school to teach us how we can prevent fires and be safer in our homes and schools Matches and lighters are tools - not toys!

So if a fire fighter ever has to come to your house, don’t hide or be afraid. Remember - Fire fighters are our friends!
