Bina Nusantara University Topic and Title “Conceptualizing a Topic Area to Research” Criteria to be considered before embarking on a topic area to research (Singh, et. al., 2008:5): 1.Interest: The topic chosen should be of some interest to the researcher to render the research a rewarding experience instead of one that is mundane and boring. 2.Added Value: It is of utmost important that the area researched adds to the existing field of knowledge and stirs the interest of other researchers in the field.

Bina Nusantara University 3. Feasibility: The proposed study should be conducted and completed within the resources available in terms of duration, energy and finance. In other words, the researcher should fully understand the constraints and be able to work within them. 4. Benefit: The proposed study should be beneficial to the field of knowledge or society and be conducted according to a set code of ethics.

Bina Nusantara University Research Title Title gives the power of first impressions. The choice of words is of paramount importance. A Working Title: The title can and should be constantly reviewed after having gone through some of the initial procedures in the research. Must be clear and unambiguous. Like a mini abstract to give an overview of the study. 12 to 15 words will be sufficient. Covers the variables, setting and subjects of the study. Should be concise, compact, clear, and correct  see Animation (LO)
