Plot Elements Exposition- The Laburnam Villa, England, 1902 –Cold, wet night –The White Family house Conflict- External –Mr. White uses a cursed monkey’s paw to make a wish but it goes terribly wrong

Plot Elements Complications –Mr. White makes his first wish –His son Herbert dies the next day –Mrs. White goes mad –Mr. White makes his second wish

Climax There is a knocking at the door Mr. White makes his third and final wish

Falling Action The knocking stops The Whites lose their son forever They are left with nothing but a cold, dark, empty house
