Once upon a time a monkey lived on the jamun tree nearby the Bank of river.

In the river, there lived a Crocodile and his wife. Every day he would come out of the water to bath in the sun. Every day monkey gave some jamun to crocodile and he relished those. They chatted for long hours while gulping the tasty Jamuns. In the river, there lived a Crocodile and his wife. Every day he would come out of the water to bath in the sun. After eating jamuns the wicked wife of the crocodile thought,” If the fruit is so delicious, how delicious would be the person who eats this sweet fruit daily!!”. so she thought of a plan to eat the flesh of the monkey. One day crocodile came back home, he saw his wife lying on a bed and crying bitterly. After some time they became good friends. One day a monkey gave a few jamuns for his wife.

Crocodile :What has happened my dear! Why are you crying? Mrs. Crocodile : O dear ! A doctor prescribed that I should eat a monkeys heart. The crocodile was utterly confused and said… Crocodile : I would like to get it for you, but he is my friend and lives up in the tree. How can I catch him.

Finally, shaken by the wailings of his wife, the crocodile thought a plan and said….

After reaching the jamun tree, he called out....

Crocodile : My wife invited you for the dinner. Monkey : But how shall I, I cannot swim.

Hiding his fear, the monkey spoke in a calm voice……..

Monkey: I have placed my heart in the hollow of the tree. Crocodile: Really? How was I to know?

The crocodile believed his words fully and rushed back as fast as he could…..
