Plagiarism has been around for centuries, but the Internet and the subsequent proliferation of information have made the problem more serious. Plagiarism is in all walks of life. Plagiarism is taking someone else's work and passing it off as one's own. Many people think of plagiarism as copying another's work, or borrowing someone else's original ideas. CONCLUSION In india, in absence of database of theses and dissertations,it is easy to plagarise them from one university to anther and even in the same university. Plagiarism in project work is common and difficult to detect. I come acoross unique form of plagarism where photocopies M.L.I.Sc dissertation have been used by another college in the different years. Also in the case in many other subjects Ph.D. theses are also alleged to use plagarism practices. In another kind, Ph.D. theses include word toword translation from English to Hindi of a book in most of its chapter. India require an antiplagirism policy in academic and develop its own anti plagirism software. with the above discussion it is clear that if plagiarism is easy the tools to detect the plagiarism are also avaliable easly. Beware and avoid plagiarism otherwise you may be another example being quoted "XYZ Controversy."M.L.I.Sc

SUGGESSIONS Preparation of data bases of thesis for Ph.D submitted to universities.
