FASTING WITH PRAYER Mat 6:16-18 "Whenever you fast, don't be gloomy like the hypocrites. For they put on sad faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have their full reward! But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting will not be noticed by others but by your Father who sees in secret. And your Father who is in secret will reward you."

Why would we fast & pray A means to get closer to God. A means to get closer to God. Fasting is self affliction for spirit control. Fasting is self affliction for spirit control. DIFFERENT KINDS OF FASTING “Absolute Fast” Eliminate food & liquid. “Absolute Fast” Eliminate food & liquid. FASTING REFRESHES It gives our digestive system a rest. It rids the body of toxins, noted by Urine color darker. It gives us meal times to pray and seek God. It adds spiritual control over flesh to end bad habits. The nearer to God our faith grows stronger. We increase our power to resist Satan. We increase our strength & spirits freedom to grow. WE ARE NOT REQUIRED TO FAST WE ARE NOT REQUIRED TO FAST Our prayers will still be answered. Our faith can grow without fasting. Our salvation is not diminished. God will bless us his love is not dimished. With fasting & prayer we’ll have greater rewards. With fasting & prayer our health will be better. Some things can only happen by fasting & prayer. We can maintain a closer relationship. Our spirit is to control our bodies true needs.

HAVE WE FASTED & PRAYED? HAVE WE FASTED & PRAYED? Yes, 24 hrs. once a year for several years. About a list of things passed out in advance. Was it effective yes, God answers our prayers. Was all things we prayed for positive, No. Did everyone in the congregation fast, No. Why not? They have not been taught how & why. Is it important now for all to fast & pray? Yes! Why? God expects us to fast and pray. Name one great thing for us to fast and pray for.

WE NEED MORE SPACE! How about two services. It’s a partial temporary fix. Parking is still a problem now and with 2 service How about adding on or up and stay together? No real-estate to expand here. What is the cost of relocating in larger facility? More than we have for lot and building. Is this problem beyond our capability? Now, Yes! Then what is the answer for us? Calling the congregation to fast and pray for God to give us a solution or bless us with a $1 million growth!

COULD WE HAVE FAITH FOR A MILLION $ I can. Yes! Is it a good cause? Yes, if we plan to teach with it. Do we want to grow? Yes, God wants us to grow. Is God capable of that kind of blessing? Get real!!! God does it for denominations all around us. We would need opportunities, doors to open. People to challenge and God to please. What can we do? Fast and Pray, that’s what Gods children do for solutions from God. Let us get closer to God by fasting & prayer.

HOW DO WE START? 1. I challenge every one here to plan a 3 day fast and pray for a problem you want God’s attention to heal. 2. Face Satan's attempt to stop you for 3 days. 3. Learn how to confront him, note his ways. 4. Share your fear of fasting with me for help. 5. This will prepare you for the time we ask you and other members for all to fast. 6. This will build your faith for our cause to expand & grow. You will be glad you did!
