A SPIRITUAL SECOND WIND ACTS 18:1-11

EXAMPLES 1.MOSES  GREATEST LEADER. HAD GOD’S POWER ON HIS LIFE.  NUMBERS 11:15 HE SAID TO GOD, “IF THOU DEAL THUS WITH ME, KILL ME, I PRAY THEE!”

2.JOSHUA  GREATEST GENERAL  TO LEAD ISRAEL INTO THE PROMISED LAND  JOSHUA 7:7 – “WOULD TO GOD WE HAD BEEN CONTENT AND DWELT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF JORDAN.  HE FELT LIKE QUITTING! HE GOT OVER IT.

3.ELIJAH  GREATEST PROPHET OF OLD TESTAMENT  CHALLENGE THE IDOLATRY OF HIS DAY.  CALLED FIRE DOWN FROM HEAVEN  I KINGS 19:4 – HE REQUESTED FOR HIMSELF THAT HE MIGHT DIE. O LORD, TAKE AWAY MY LIFE!

4.JOB  WE TALK ABOUT HIS PATIENCE AND FAITH  GREAT BEGINNING AND A GREAT ENDING  HE WISHED HE HAD NOT BEEN BORN  JOB 3:3 – LET THE DAY PERISH IN WHICH I WAS BORN!

5.JONAH  HE WANTED GOD TO KILL HIM, AND WAS SIRITUALLY DEPRESSED AND NOT EVEN HAPPY FOR ALL THE SOULS THAT JUST GOT SAVED IN NINEVEH!

6.PAUL  1 COR. 2:3 – “I WAS WITH YOU IN WEAKNESS AND IN FEAR, AND IN MUCH TREMBLING”  HE WAS FATIGUED  HE WAS ALONE  STRESSED (VERSE 5)  HAD A SENSE OF FAILURE  2 COR. 12:11 – HE DIDN’T QUIT, HE CONTINUED! WHY? BECAUSE GOD TOLD HIM IN VERSE 9 AND 10: “IT’S TOO SOON TO QUIT!”.

3 PROMISES 1.GOD’S PRESENCE  VERSE 10 - “I AM WITH THEE”  IN TIMES OF LONELINESS  HEBREWS 13:5 – I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE!  BEGINNING: “EMMANUEL, GOD WITH US”  ENDING: “LO, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS”  IN THE VALLEY  WHEN DEFEAT COMES – REMEMBER THE GOD OF THE MOUNTAIN IS STILL GOD OF THE VALLEY!

2. GOD’S PROTECTION  VERSE 10 “NO MAN SHALL SET ON THEE TO HURT THEE”  THEY MIGHT HAVE KILLED THE APOSTLE PAUL, BUT NOT UNTIL HE WAS ABLE TO SAY, “I HAVE FINISHED MY COURSE.”  THEY KILLED THE LORD JESUS, BUT NOT BEFORE HE SAID, “IT IS FINISHED!”  NOTHING CAN HAPPEN WITHOUT THE LORD’S PERMISSION.

3. GOD’S POTENTIAL  VERSE 10b “I HAVE MUCH PEOPLE IN THIS CITY”  GOD DIDN’T SEE THE PERVERTS OF THIS CITY FOR WHAT THEY WERE, BUT FOR WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO BE!  1 COR. 6:9 KNOW YE NOT THAT THE UNRIGHTEOUS SHALL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD?
