The Padaung of Myanmar (neck elongation) Group 2 高宇賢 黃文謙 洪啟恩

Background  Padaung (Yan Pa Doung) is a Shan term for the Kayan Lahwi (the group whose women wear the brass neck coils).Shan  Most of the Kayan people in Mae Hong Son are formerly from nine villages in Karenni State.

Culture ： Brass Coils  Neck rings are formed with one or more spiral metal coils  Girls first start to wear rings when they are around five years old.

Why they waer brass coils?  the desire to look more attractive by exaggerating sexual dimorphism  give the women resemblance to a dragon, an important figure in Kayan folklore

 Each culture has its own values.  What we think beautiful may be strange to those who have different cultures.
