AIR FORCE: BROOKS CITY-BASE, DYESS, GOOD FELLOW, LACKLAND, LAUGHLIN, RANDOLPH AND SHEPPARD. ARMY: FORT BLISS, FORT HOOD, FORT SAM HOUSTON AND RED RIVER DEPOT. NAVY: JRB(FT. NORTH TEXAS FARMERS MOVED WEST TO CALIFORNIA. DUST STORMS AFFECTED A LARGE PART OF TEXAS. MANY FARMERS LOST THEIR LANF TO BANKS. STATES OUTSIDE THE DUST BOWL WERE AFFECTED. PLANTED NEW TREES AND VEGETATION TO PREVENT EROSION.
IMPROVED THE LIVES OF TEXANS DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION BY EMPLOYING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE TO BUILD BRIDGES, ROADS AND SCHOOLS.
THE COTTON PRODUCTION IN TEXAS DURING THE 1930’S AND 40’S DROPPED AND FEWER ACRES WERE PLANTED. FEWER PEOPLE WORKED IN RURAL TEXAS DURING THE 1940’S.
