Support for Single projects: Amounts MEDIA support: € € (80.000€ for feature animation intended for theatrical release) ! No distinctions anymore between categories ! No obligation to request one of the fixed amounts: the applicants can request whatever amount from to €.

Support for Single projects: Previous experience eligibility criterion Companies submitting an application must prove that they completed a previous work as the major producer and that this work has been distributed during the period between 1 January 2005 and the date of submission of their application.

Support for Single projects: Previous experience eligibility criterion Major producer = The applicant company was the sole production company In the case of a co-production with another production company, the applicant company was the major co-producer in the financing plan or was the delegate producer; The Chief Executive or one of the shareholders of the applicant company has a personal credit as producer or delegate producer.

Support for Single projects: Previous experience eligibility criterion Derogation: A previous work produced by a company other than the applicant company may be accepted, if the applicant company can show that its Chief Executive, one of its shareholders or one of its employees of at least twelve months standing as a producer, has a personal credit in the role of producer, delegate producer or executive producer.

Support for Single projects: Previous experience eligibility criterion ! No more a previous work that must be compatible with the submitted project ! No more 18/24 months distribution period ! No more reference to national/international distribution ! Sales agent agreement are accepted as proof of distribution

Support for Single projects: Ownership of rights eligibility criterion The applicant company must show, no later than on the date of submission, that it holds the majority of the rights relating to the project for which support is being sought. ! No more ‘at least 50% of the rights’

Support for Single projects: Selection procedure Creation of automatic points. – A project which has been subject to MEDIA Training: 2 points. – An applicant company established in a country with low production capacity and owned by citizens from that country: 1 point. – Companies having benefited from development support under MEDIA Plus or MEDIA 2007 for a project that has been produced: 1 point

SLATE FUNDING Animation, Drama, Creative documentary for commercial exploitation

Slate Funding Number of projects: ! slate composed of 3 to 6 projects Amounts: € to € ! No more restriction concerning documentaries ! No obligation to request fixed amounts: the beneficiaries can request whatever amount from to € per project ! Payments: first pre-financing payment 70 % ! Monitoring: only 1 Final Global Report

Slate Funding: Previous experience eligibility criterion Companies submitting an application must prove that they have in the 5 years preceding their application produced two previous works as major producer. These two works must have been distributed internationally in the 5 years preceding the application. Countries from low production capacity: the requirement is reduced to one previous work.

Slate Funding: Selection procedure Creation of an automatic point system. – Applicant companies established in countries with low production capacity: 2 points. – Companies having benefited from development support under MEDIA Plus or MEDIA 2007 for a project that has been produced: 1 point

Slate Funding 2 nd stage Number of projects: slate composed of 3 to 6 projects Amounts: € to € Specific budgetary line ! No more restriction concerning documentaries ! No obligation to request fixed amounts: the beneficiaries can request whatever amount from to € per project ! Payments: first pre-financing payment 70 % ! Monitoring: only 1 Final Global Report

Slate Funding 2 nd stage: conditions to apply Companies already selected for Slate Funding meeting the following conditions: – A beneficiary of a Slate Funding or Slate Funding 2nd Stage agreement signed in the course of 2005, 2006 or – To have entered into production with at least one supported project at the latest on the date of submission of their application ! A company can apply for Slate Funding 2nd stage as long as it fulfils the above mentioned conditions for access (before it had to submit a Slate Funding 1st stage after a 2nd stage).

SUPPORT TO ON LINE & OFF LINE INTERACTIVE WORKS

Interactive works (ex multimedia) Type of support: Single Project ! A company may submit two applications in the framework of the same call for proposals Specific Budget line: 1,5 million euro

Interactive works (ex multimedia): Amounts Minimum MEDIA support: € Maximum MEDIA support: € € for the development of game prototypes for consoles including handheld and computer

Interactive works (ex multimedia): Eligible project – interactive works for computer, internet, mobile phone, games console and handheld console presenting interactivity, scenario and innovation – new format concepts destined for digital television, internet or mobile handsets where interactivity and narrative elements are significant. ! In all cases the projects must be intended for commercial exploitation

Interactive works (ex multimedia): previous experience eligibility criterion Companies submitting an application must prove that they completed a previous eligible interactive work or an animation of at least 24’ and that this work has been distributed during the period between 1 January 2005 and the date of submission of their application The possibility to take into account the previous experience of the producer, the author, director/project leader, head of computer graphics or head of interactive programming is maintained for a previous interactive work.
