Ohio University Alumni Leaders Conference OUAA Board of Directors

Our Role Mission: The Ohio University Alumni Association exists to connect, inform, serve and engage the University’s diverse alumni and friends. Vision: Every alumnus(a) a participant in the life of the University. Objectives: 1) Building Community: Encourage and promote the value of alumni fellowship, leadership, network development, and community outreach. 2) Volunteerism, Philanthropy and Advocacy: Champion volunteerism and philanthropy in support of the University’s Mission and Vision. 3) Retention and Recruitment: Engage alumni in recruiting and retaining students in sustaining and developing scholarships.

Our Role  Meet 3 times per year  Conference calls between meetings  Reports from President and other key University leaders  Provide support and counsel to Jennifer and the Alumni Relations team.

Committees – Alumni Engagement  Strategy for out-of-Athens Board meetings  Alumni survey development and analysis  Provide guidance to staff on chapter/society facilitation and management  Attend chapter/society/college events

Committees – Student Engagement  Engage and participate in signature Student Alumni Board (SAB) events, activities, and initiatives and act as mentors to SAB executive officers  Guide and participate in on-campus student programming initiatives such as Dinner with 12 Strangers, Senior Week, etc.  Host OUAA Board and student Professional Networking Reception during on-campus meetings

Committees – Board Development  Select new slate of officers every year for terms on the Board  Diversity of class, major, geography, demographics, etc.  Board term is three years

Engaging with the Board  Contact your local board members and invite them to attend meetings, events, reunions  Ask a board member to speak at a meeting or event  Meet with board members in your area to provide thoughts/feedback about OUAA activities, initiatives and programs
