Chemicals in our house! The Bedroom!! And The Living Room!! Maria Panayiotou Dimitra Chrysanthou Hara Andreou

1.Total-Release Foggers They are pesticide chemicals used to get rid of fleas, ticks and roaches. They release a gas spray that fills the air with pesticide containing insecticide. To be affective these need to be used in enclosed areas. People and animals must stay away. Toys, food, cutlery and crockery must not be exposed. The house should be aired and the tops of tables should be cleaned before using. Avoid contact with them because they can cause eye and skin burning or trouble breathing depending on the level of exposure.

2.Moth balls They are white, round and they look like marble. They have a strong and unusual smell. They repel insects that eat natural fibres (wood and paper) They are used in closets and bookcases. They contain pesticides such as naphthalene. Coming in contact with moth balls may cause irritation to the eye and skin. Wash your hands or skin with lots of water. If you breathe it, it may get you sick. This depends on the level of exposure.

Rug or Carpet Cleaners! They are sprays and they are used to clean sports off rugs and carpets. They are usually stored in the kitchen, bathroom, or laundry room. They contain naphthalene. They give off fumes, which can cause damage in the liver, dizziness, sleepiness, nausea, loss of appetite, and disorientation. Always use in well ventilated areas and do not breathe the fumes.

Furniture Polish Used to get the dust and fingerprints off furniture and to protect the wood from water. It helps in the application of the wax or oil to the furniture. Before using this product you need to be sure to always read the label first to know how to use it properly. Make sure there is a good air circulation in the room. Windows must be fully open. It can cause skin or eye irritation.

Flea Collars! They are collars people put around the neck of cats and dogs to keep fleas and ticks away. They are made in a way so that the pesticide is melted into or part of the collar. This diffuses out of the collar slowly for several months. The collar should fit properly as extra length can make your pet chew it. If you come in contact with this product, always wash your hands
